There are those who may attribute the Red Sox’ World Series appearance to the copious facial hair they are sporting, but perhaps the real secret is not what’s on their heads, but what’s under them!
A month ago, Red Sox President Larry Lucchino let the cat out of the bag that the players had a “sleep room” to be able to rest up between games. Thinking that any good sleep room wouldn’t be complete without some Cuddledown bedding, we sent along several of our luxurious pillows, as well as our customer favorite sateen pillowcases, custom monogrammed with “Go Red Sox!” Local sports reporter Dave Eid (WGME13) filmed the pillows being made.
So, is there a correlation between the comfy Cuddledown pillows and the wins? It’s a proven fact that better sleep equates good health – so we’d like to think that had something to do with this World Series appearance!
Either way, Maine has definitely had a hand in the Ws – according to the Portland Press Herald, the Sea Dogs’ (Portland’s double A team) general manager Geoff Iacuessa said 17 of the 25 Red Sox players had spent time in Portland, either as minor leaguers or major leaguers coming back from injury on rehab assignments.
Beards or “Sea Dogs”/Maine connection notwithstanding, we still think it was primarily due to the pillows! 🙂 And we’re all rooting for that big World Series win!
