Make a Cozy Transition from Summer to Fall

October 10, 2018 by

Everyone loves summer, but many would argue that Fall is the greatest season of all.

Here in the Northeast, Fall is a time where leaves turn from a lush green to vibrant hues of orange and red, shorts and t-shirts turn to jeans and sweatshirts, and iced coffee turns to hot apple cider.

One of the best parts about fall is spending time outdoors – enjoying the comfortable, crisp temperatures while taking in all of the beautiful foliage.

However, those temperatures can become unbearably cold, and that’s when you’ll want to head indoors and get cozy. The following is a guide on how to turn your bedroom into a cozy escape from the cooling weather.

Flannel: a fall staple

Is there anything more “fall” than flannel and plaid?

Your crisp percale sheets may have been perfect for summer, but with the temperatures dropping, you’ll want to add something a bit toastier to your bed. Give our Lachlan Plaid Flannel Bedding a try, which features our 6 oz. cotton, making it our coziest and plushest flannel yet!

If plaid isn’t for you, check out our full Flannel Collection, to discover warm colors and prints that perfectly complement the changing seasons outside.

Say goodbye to light & airy blankets

Still using a blanket or a summer-weight comforter? Time to say goodbye to it until next summer! Once the outdoor temperatures become too cold, you’ll want a nice, toasty comforter to burrow under.

All of Cuddledown’s comforters are handcrafted in the United States, filled with responsibly sourced down, and will give you the warmth you need, without the weight!

We recommend starting with our Warmth Level 1.

Cozy clothing

Getting out of bed to get some hot cocoa? Step into some Merino Wool/Silk Leggings from Switzerland and Fuzzy Lambswool Slippers, and slip into a plush Fleece Bed Jacket so you can stay cozy while you’re away from your nest.

Get creative!

Lastly, add some ambiance. Something as simple as some fall-scented candles can make all the difference. If you want to go a step further, you could add a nice rug, which will help you avoid stepping foot on those cold hardwood floors.
