Like so many others, I have been touched personally by the terrible scourge of cancer. Some friends and family have fought it off successfully (one of whom, Claire Owens, was actually featured in a Cuddledown catalog several years ago!). But some, who I miss dearly, did not win the battle. So I was pleased to find out that the employees at Cuddledown had formed a small but mighty team to participate in, and fundraise for the Dempsey Challenge on October 2nd and 3rd.
The event benefits the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing in Maine (named for the Grey’s Anatomy star, whose own mother has fought cancer). The Center provides support, education, and health promotion for those touched by cancer.
Cuddledown’s team (who will be cycling, walking, running or volunteering at the event) has already surpassed the goal they set, but would love to raise more money towards this incredibly worthy cause! You can help by going here to donate to anyone on the team’s page! Or come on out to the event on October 2nd & 3rd to cheer us on in person. Or support cancer-fighting events in your own home state. Those who’ve been touched by cancer (far too many of us) certainly appreciate everyone’s help!
